About me…

Hi there! Thank you for visiting my website. Please allow me to introduce myself:

In 2018, I defended my PhD dissertation on innovation management in family firms at the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. After working a brief period as a postdoctoral researcher for the Dutch Centre of Expertise in Family Business at Windesheim University, I currently work as a research associate for the Centre for Family Business Management at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, in Italy. I am a member of the editorial review boards of Family Business Review, Journal of Family Business Strategy, and Entrepreneurship Research Journal.

My research interests center on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability topics in the context of family-owned and -managed businesses. My research activity in this field arose from a general interest in the more traditional and artisan industries. However, family business extends way beyond the stereotypical mom-and-pop stores and traditional industry. In fact, some of the worlds largest and most innovative companies are family owned and managed. The human aspect family involvement adds to decision making keeps fascinating me, and will likely maintain a central place in my future scholarly work.

Besides my research activities, I enjoy teaching (under)graduates, reading, history, music, sarcasm, and most of all riding my bicycle up and down the beautiful hills and mountains surrounding my current home.

Please feel invited to contact me in case you are interested in any of my activities, have a research idea that might be worth exploring together, or simply want to join for a bike ride 🙂
